Process Engineer (Temporary - 6-month contract)

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Works with process design software tools (i.e. Hysys, Flarenet, etc) and perform and optimize process simulation design for assigned projects/proposals.
  • Prepare process design basis, process description and equipment list with key specification.
  • Prepare process data sheets for equipment & major Instruments.
  • Prepare required inputs for PFDs, P&IDs & plot plan drafting as well as work with the drafters to assure that the drafting requirements and design intent of the project are met.
  •  Carry out process equipment sizing calculations, including other engineering calculations for piping/instrument sizes for all systems, hydraulic level specification, retention and settling times, heat duty requirements, etc.
  • Prepare process operating and control philosophy document.
  • Assures timely engineering effort is maintained by performing all process engineering functions including vendor inquiry preparation, vendor bid analysis and vendor selection, inputs to process and auxiliary system mechanical flow diagrams.
  • Assists applications engineers on technical issues related to preparation of proposals, evaluates equipment performance to assure the best application is met.
  •  Participate in HAZIP, HAZOP, SIL and other safety reviews along with clients.
  •  Confers with manufacturing and drafting to prepare design modifications as required.
  • Assists in resolution of field problems and warranty claims, assesses field and shop recommendations on unit design and participates in implementing efficient corrections that reduce operational problems.
  •  Must work closely with Project Management, Project Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Summary

  • Deliver roles and responsibilities as defined, be responsible for on time, on quality and with safety corporate standards on budget engineering deliverables. Reporting to discipline lead or discipline manager.
  • Preparation, review and approval of design and detail engineering, review of specifications, calculations, contract documents as applicable to projects and proposals.
  • Ensuring deliverables with required engineering details that meet international standards, organization standards and customer standards as applicable.
  • Lead project decisions and discussions in its own discipline, guiding teams of the TPE and Enerflex teams Support and collaborate on generation and development of department goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • 8+Years of experience in Oil & Gas industry
  • Bachelor of Chemical Engineering 
  • Design experience with gas and liquids production equipment and facilities including: oil and gas Separators, oil & gas dehydration, gas sweetening, glycol regeneration, refrigeration and cryogenic plants
  • Conversant with relevant process design/simulation tools (e.g Hysys, Promax, Protreat, Flarenet and HTRI).
  • Sound working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards
  • Use of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), proficient with email system,
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communications
  • Auto Cad

Physical Requirements

Must be able to work under pressure; Occasional business travel to remote and challenging environments.
