Mechanical Engineering Lead
Summary
Skilled professional to lead the department, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and on-quality delivery of engineering deliverables. Set department goals and objectives in line with organizational goals and objectives and establish KPIs to monitor progress. Guide and lead a team of engineers and designers for proposal support, FEED, and detailed engineering. Provide technical leadership and guidance for all projects and proposals. Support estimation, costing, planning, and technical proposals. Work closely with engineering partners and third parties to ensure quality and timely completion of work. Be an out-of-the-box thinker who consistently creates innovative ways to reduce waste and simplify internal processes to improve both personal and departmental efficiencies.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Supervise the Mechanical Engineering group (In house / Engineering partner) capable of executing projects.
- Provide technical guidance to the mechanical engineering group.
- Develop man-hour estimates, review with engineering management for approval, and submit to the project.
- Initiate the development and approve project-specific work methods, standards, and specifications to ensure quality control.
- Ensure a safe, efficient plant design that complies with agreed project standards.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge to ensure appropriate input into designs and utilize the most cost-effective design techniques.
- Liaise with other disciplines to facilitate effective and timely completion of projects.
- Comply with all Enerflex HR, Quality, HSE, and all the Company policies, procedures, processes, work instructions and guidelines
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor / Manager

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical.
- 15-20 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a lead position in the Oil & Gas Industry.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering design and simulation software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS, etc.
- Experience in design, simulation, and services related to rotary equipment, mechanical systems, and piping.
- Experience in creating material selection charts, mechanical safety flow schemes, mechanical design bases, technical design instructions, and discipline work practices.
- Experience in conceptual design studies, FEED, and detailed engineering of mechanical static and rotary equipment and facilities including vessels, compressors, pumps, turbines, and heat exchangers.
- Experience in HAZID/HAZOP Studies, Process Audits, Safety Audits, and Environmental Audits.
- Ability to balance technical/HSE requirements against implementation costs.
- Ability to provide technical support for proposal works and come up with man-hour estimations, as well as raising technical queries to accurately define the project scope of work.
- Provide engineering support to operations and commissioning disciplines.
- Experience in DBOOM and package environment.
- Experience in FAT, operating and commissioning mechanical units will be a plus.
- Knowledge in material selection.
- Conversant with relevant mechanical design/simulation tools.
- Sound working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work under pressure.
- Occasional international travel to vendors as well as remote and challenging environments.
- Occasional long workdays due to differences in time zones, work schedules across operations areas, and international travel
