Instrumentation & Controls Engineer III

Summary

Perform and manage basic and detailed Instrumentation & Control engineering activities for the assigned projects in Oil & Gas and petrochemical facilities, in accordance with the Company established procedures, and ensure project discipline delivery meets quality requirements and Clients expectations. 

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Specify field instruments including electronic transmitters, meter runs, analysers, control valves and ESD valves including and not limited to the creation of instrument data sheets
  • Creation of I & C engineering documents including and not limited to review and completion of P&ID’s, control narratives, instrument and control specifications, installation details, Cause & Effect Diagram and Loop-Drawings
  • Participate in DR, HAZOP and SIL session and close their recommendations
  • Review RFQ’s, evaluation of vendors quotations, and vendors documents
  • Conduct project gap analysis and participate in P&ID development
  • Define the Instrumentation &Control engineering execution scope and the required Instrumentation deliverables
  • Participate in project schedule preparation and planning packages
  • Plan all aspect of Instrumentation & Control activities, and prepare accurate discipline status reports
  • Recognize and report all scope changes via Company MOC system that may cause impact to projects
  • Participate in DESIGN REVIEW, HAZOP and HAZID study of awarded Oil & Gas EPCC projects
  • Perform engineering and application of various instruments, F&G analyzers , including and not limited to programing of DCS, PLC, SIS, HMI, and SCADA/RTU
  • Comply with all Enerflex HR, Quality, HSE, and all the Company policies, procedures, processes, work instructions and guidelines
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor / Manager

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelors in Electronics/ Instrumentation Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years experience in a relevant field, that is natural gas processing and compression packaging industry 
  • Strong knowledge of basic and detailed Instrumentation engineering for gas compression and gas processing projects
  • Knowledge of various electrical components including and not limited to MCCs, PLC panels, VFD’s, electrical switchgear and motors understanding of the methods required to make all these systems function together in an operating plant
  • Experience in preparation of Single line diagrams, load schedules, cable sizing & schedules
  • Hands on experience in MS office, Intools & AutoCAD 
  • Well conversant with engineering standard such as IEC, ATEX, CSA, API, ANSI and ISA
  • Organized, systematic with strong observations, analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work with a team within a diverse cultural environment

Physical Requirements

80% office base environment, 20% remote site visits.
