Industrial Painter

Summary

Reporting to the Paint Supervisor, the purpose of the Industrial Painter includes, but is not limited to, being capable of performing all aspects of the Paint Department, working with other employees as a part of a team, and being prompt and on time daily for work. Have the ability and desire to become efficient with painting techniques and learn all aspects of job as required. 

With a foundation of integrity, the candidate would use commitment and creativity to drive our organization forward. This position is based out of Enerflex’s Southeast Calgary facility.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Knowledge of Alkyd, Enamel, Polyurethane, Epoxies, and Zinc industrial paints
  • Painting of Gas Compression, Gas Processing and Power Generation equipment to a high standard of quality primarily using airless spraying equipment
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques related to painting, safe use, storage and disposal of paint and cleaning products.
  • Familiar with the use of wet and dry paint thickness MIL gauges
  • Experience with performing soluble salt testing and low voltage holiday detection.
  • Experienced with the use of Replica Tape to determine sandblast profile.
  • Measuring environmental conditions and accurately recording.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 3 years of related work experience in a similar industry is considered an asset.
  • A valid recognized Alberta Journeyperson Trade Certificate, inter provincial red seal, or currently enrolled in a certified apprenticeship program may be considered an asset.
  • Auto body painters will be considered.
  • Good written and oral communications skills.
  • Results oriented and a team player.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment health assessment including a drug and alcohol test.
